Bold shapes and clear light work best. Busy photos with soft backgrounds are the hardest to print well.
Portrait and landscape are the same plaque turned round — we'll match it to your picture automatically.
On its own, or mounted
A plaque is about 3 mm thick. The block is a printed stand we glue it to, so it sits on a shelf or a desk.

A rough guide, not the finished thing
This preview is worked out in a second or two by snapping every part of your picture to the nearest of four filament colours. The real print blends between layers and picks up shades this can't show, so it always comes out better than what you're looking at.
The colours we'd use
Colours come from the filaments we have loaded, so a plaque is always an interpretation of your picture rather than an exact copy. We can swap any of them — after you order, we'll send you a render of the finished plaque and you can tell us if you'd rather a different set.
Each one is printed and finished by hand, so there are faint layer lines and a little surface texture close up — that's how a printed piece looks, and from across a room you won't see them.
